CTA Technological Centre

The contract included the design and the project management of the construction (DiGEST system). The use is mainly industrial, but it also includes 1.000 sqm of prime quality office space and a 2.000 sqm lay-up facility.

The Aresa's Aerospace Technology Centre CTA was finished in 2005 and it outstands as the most advanced facility in the world of its class. It features some of the most advanced production systems of the world in the composite sector, such as a 2.000 sm lay-up facility or an ATM state-of-the-art robot, among others. The facility is structured by five areas: A: office, B: storage, C: lay-up, D: assembling E: Supply & machinery.

The building is located at the Technology Park of Castilla-Leon, and it means a big boost for the aerospace industry in the region. Its 11.000 built gross area are located within a 25.000 sqm land lot, being the second largest building within the CL Technology Park.

The office area has been designed following the most advanced principles for an intelligent office facility. Its ellipse-like shape is enclosed by a double-skin glass curtain wall with an intelligent light control system of motorized louvers that react with the position of the sun.

The project construction was accomplished with the coordination of different multidisciplinary technical teams of architects, engineers and technical engineers (quantity surveyors). Two conceptual designs were presented to the client, and once decided the final scheme, AXXO took care of all the tendering bids and the permits management. Once the construction works started, AXXO assisted the owner as project management consultant and acted as Contractor in some of the construction packages. At the same time, AXXO was hired as Architect of Record of the project.
